      • a basic life support training course that covers: CPR, recovery position, use of a defibrillator, and how to manage a bleed e.g. YMCA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (603/1902/1)
      • Action Counter Terrorism (ACT) Awareness eLearning

    Overview

    By completing this qualification, learners will meet industry requirements to perform roles within stewarding and spectator safety.

    The purpose of this qualification is to confirm occupational competence and provide learners with knowledge, skills and understanding of Spectator Safety. It is mapped to the Skills Active National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Spectator Safety 2019.

    Completing this qualification provides access to stewarding, attendant, crew member and usher jobs including for sport and music events, festivals and carnivals.

    Qualification details

    The YMCA Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety has been designed to support learners to demonstrate the minimum requirements for roles in stewarding and spectator safety.

    Following relevant familiarisation and induction training, learners may work alongside a qualified steward whilst they train. After attending four events as a steward, they may then continue to work unaccompanied for up to 12 months whilst they complete this qualification.

    Learners will cover:

    • Preparing for spectator events
    • Assisting with the movement of spectators and dealing with crowd issues at events
    • Managing and resolving conflicts
    • Dealing with incidents at spectator events
    • Supporting the work of your team and organisation.
